Attuned equipment is equipment that has been upgraded in the Mystic Forge to gain one extra infusion slot. Only ascended rings can be attuned. Attuned rings have a total of 2 infusion slots, or 3 infusion slots if they are also infused (which can be done before or after attuning the ring).
Warning: Crafting an attuned ring will destroy all infusions inserted in the original ring. The infusions can be safely removed prior to attunement by using an Infusion Extraction Device, and then reapplied to the new ring.
Once you have a ring, you can immediately “ Attune ” it for cheap, which adds a second Infusion slot to the ring. Now that you have a ring with two slots, you can purchase or craft (requires Artificer Lv100) two +9 Agony Infusions. Slot these into your ring. Filling two slots and using the Tear will grant you 33 AR, enough to poke into Tier 2. Comes in handy if you have a +9 infusion in your gear and you happen to get one more slot, but don't have the infusions to fill it: You can extract your +9 infusion (using the Infusion Extraction Device, see part 1 of this guide), trade it for two +8 infusions and end up with ( 2 x 8 - 9 = ) 7 more points of agony resistance. To put infusions in your gear, you first need ascended equipment with infusion slots. Most ascended equipment comes with one or two preset infusion slots. You can increase the number of infusion slots in certain trinkets by infusing or attuning them: Rings and backpieces can be infused to add one infusion slot, for a total of two infusion slots. Gw2 Add Infusion Slot To Ring Toss
- The upgrading process creates an entirely new item, so you will lose any existing infusions on the original, non-attuned gear. Any pieces with selectable stats will also be reset and allow stats to be chosen again.
- The text of the Agonized Essence item, and the Agony Channeler mastery track provide brief in-game instructions regarding attuned rings.
- Attuned rings give one additional packet of Stabilizing Matrices when salvaged. Attuned Infused rings give two additional packets.
