76 players went into the final of the Main Event at 2 pm. Plenty of action at the tables made sure that the final table was reached at 9:30 pm.

Desset dominates the final table

The final table was completely dominated by Andrej Desset. First, two players from Israel had to clear their chairs with smaller stacks. Desset then destroyed Danilo Fustic's aces in a duel between two big stacks. A little later he was able to send Jozsef Meszaros, the second bigstack, to the rail by hitting a straight on the river against his set.

After so much action, he had more than half of the chips with five remaining players, but then lost one pot after the other and was even the short stack at the final table. Desset fought his way back and doubled twice against Vasile Runcan. So he made it into the heads-up against Mario Knezevic.

There the two fought a long fight and only after about one and a half hours the decisive hand happened. On this board Q-9-2-6-3 all chips went into the middle, after there had already been flop and turn action. Desset opened 9-3 for two pairs, Mario showed the pair ladies for the triplet and won the tournament and a prize money of € 30,500.
